This copyrighted article can not be reprinted here. However, Drs Patrick J. McKeever, Sheila Torres, and Timothy O'Brien wrote an extensive report on spiculosis in Kerries.

"Spiculosis: a condition characterized by pruritus and hard brittle spicules protruding from hair follicles was diagnosed in four make Kerry Blue Terriers. Treatment with isotretinoin resulted in marked improvement in one case and complete clearing of spicules in two."
