Performance Titlesby Tracey Fulmer Earning a champion performance title is an enormous accomplishment. As of November 2009, there are only 6 (yes 6) Kerries in the history of the breed with an AKC performance championship. Two are in obedience (OTCH - Obedience Trial Champion) and four are in agility (MACH - Master Agility Champion.) The only time a title goes IN FRONT of the registered name is when the title is for earning a championship. Thus, a conformation champion's name starts with a CH, an obedience champion starts with OTCH and an agility champion starts with MACH. In performance, the letters after the name are for titles that are earned in classes that preceed the championship, e.g., novice, open. Below are the Kerries that are Performance Champions. Thanks to Eve Fishell for compiling this list. Master Agility Champions
Obedience Trial Champions
Note that Gabby has earned her agility championship 3 times over! That means she had to earn 750 speed points (points accumulated for each clean, qualfying run under the standard course time) plus 20 double qualifying runs (two qualifying runs on the same day on two separate courses that test different skills -- the standard course includes the contact obstacles and the jumpers course is without the contacts) for EACH of those MACHs.
