Ace (Born 5-Aug-1991)

Today, September 6, 2006, the Kerry Lovers Lunch Bunch in Edmonton Alberta Canada is celebrating a special birthday. Ace is 15 and our oldest kerry in Canada. He is a charming old boy who is still active and enjoys 3 walks a day. (of 1 kilometer each time) His hearing isn’t all that good but he can see very well indeed. Well enough to spot a rabbit and make a dash for it, pulling hard on his mistress’s shoulder. Ace stills loves to run free in the nearby enclosed hockey rink. That way his people don’t have to worry and can catch him, as he loves to tease. Ace loves treats and when asked will still do tricks. His best trick is jumping through the arms of his people. No mean feat at his age and weight. Ace is a big kerry, weighing 50 to 52 pounds in his prime, although he now is a trim 47 pounds which helps keep him active. Ace knows a few hands signals to make up for his hearing loss and his mistress is convinced he can read lips. He is still a great guard dog and announces visitors, dogs and people in the park across the street and still patrols the house at night. Ace has shared his home with fish, birds and other dogs. His current buddy is another 4 year old kerry called Sailor, but he is ‘the boss’.

Ace is much loved and gives some of the nicest kisses, not too wet and not too many. Maeva and Kirby love him dearly and treasure every moment as he gets older.

Ace is the result of breeding by Janice Gessner.

He is a wonderful old kerry and in that spirit is donating all his birthday monies to rescue at the Kerry Blue Terrier Foundation.

May all kerries have a wonderful long and loved life!
