Kerry Owners have More Fun

by Angelica Amador

It's great to be a Kerry owner. Here are three heart-warming stories to prove it!

Merry Blue Jollygoodfellow (VRONSKY) born: 3 october 2000

Merry Blue Jollygoodfellow ("Vronsky")
Born: 3 october 2000

One evening during our walk Vronsky came to a complete stop and kept staring at a woman on the other side of the street, he is extremely curious and friendly so this is not uncommon, but I can usually hoax to keep on walking, but this time NOTHING would make him take a step. So I decided to wait and see. When the young woman finally crossed the street I was able to see she was crying. I just stood there without knowing what to say or do....(typical human behavior!) Vronsky on the other hand was jumping up and down like crazy! the girl came up to Vronsky and
eventually they were both hugging, she came down to his level and Vronsky got to lick her face! The girl got up thank me and said all she needed was a bit of love.....got in her car and left.

One morning, as we were coming back from our walk, a man, who works in a coffee shop in front of the park where Vronsky and I play, stopped us and told me every morning he looks forward to seeing us playing and running because we both look so happy! "You guys just make my day!". He named Vronsky "Happy Dog".

The third story happened last night, a woman came running to me....."I am so happy I caught up with you, I have been watching you for some days now and have been dying to ask you.. This is a Kerry Blue isn't he?" " Well of course!" said his proud mother... (although she still thinks Vronsky was not properly groomed!) beaming with delight! The lady told us she had owned a KB who had past away some months ago....She loves the breed and would love to have the opportunity to walk Vronsky....Her story about how she came about a KB is not that nice at all. Her neighbor
had a KB. The KB had a litter and for an unknown reason the tails were cut too short! The owner
was appalled because the puppies would not be able to become "champions" therefore she gave the puppies away to whomever wanted them!

One of the puppies adopted "my neighbor" and she fell in love with the breed. We went back
exchanged telephone numbers and I promise to call her so she may JOIN us on our walks.

Vronsky

One last story:

A two year old girl in Old Town stopped to pet Vronsky and she kept saying "soft mommy, soft mommy.." Vronsky who adores attention and children did not even breath so as to not disturb this great "petter".
